Wells + Associates was pleased to be part of the team recognized with the Outstanding Planning Tool Award by the American Planning Association’s National Capital Area Chapter.
The award honors the Federal Workforce Scenario Planning Study, a collaborative effort led by the National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC) and the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, with contributions from The Schreifer Group, HR&A Advisors, and Wells + Associates. Our geospatial analysis provided key insights into federal workforce demographics, commuting patterns, and residential trends.

The study’s scenario-based tool helps agencies and jurisdictions assess the effects of telework policies on federal real estate, transportation systems, and regional priorities. It also addresses critical issues such as equity and sustainability, offering stakeholders a foundation for strategic planning in the National Capital Region.
