Marketing and Content Strategist (Part-Time)
Position Summary
The primary function of the Marketing and Content Strategist is to lead the development of content and campaign strategies that influence the use of biking, walking, transit, carpool, and related amenities and programs to reduce the reliance on personal vehicles and form habits around the use of sustainable mobility options. The resulting content and campaigns will be implemented at residential buildings, single and multi-tenant commercial offices, a university, and large mixed-use developments across the Washington, DC region.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with marketing coordinators and program managers to plan content and related timelines
- Support development and review of Marketing Plans for individual sites
- Assist with determining appropriate voice, tone, and format of content
- Review channels used to share content and performance data, revise strategies to increase effectiveness
- Review content upon request to ensure appropriateness for target audience
- Support team understanding of analytics and resulting opportunities through training and development
- Provide additional training, feedback or coaching for staff to enhance quality of content and marketing performance as needed
- Attend project or campaign kickoff or results meetings as appropriate
- Strengthen campaign and content processes, creating efficiencies where needed in collaboration with program managers
Who We’re Looking For
- 5+ years in marketing, communications, or PR with content and campaign strategy planning, management, and execution
- Experience with Transportation Demand Management (TDM) strongly preferred
- Experience with a consulting or high-volume, project-based firm a plus
- Understanding of the real estate industry helpful
- Demonstrated ability to write, review, and edit content across multiple channels (print, email, social media, direct mail, digital displays, web, blog)
- Experience crafting personas based on available data, identifying appropriate channels, developing marketing plans, and creating content calendars
- Able to identify and strategize around opportunities from reviewing campaign and content performance
- Keeps a pulse on marketing trends and innovations, able to share information and encourage adoption within team
- Able to prioritize tasks within a project management system, communicate timelines, delays, needs, and deadlines effectively across all levels
- Self-starter, able to work independently on tasks within duties with minimal oversight
- Strong leadership and communication skills, able to provide effective feedback and training to team members
- Able to communicate across different levels within an organization effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams, and PowerPoint
- Background working with CRMs and email marketing tools (Salesforce, Pardot preferable)
- Background working with project management tools (Asana preferable)
Location
This position has the opportunity to report to Wells + Associates Tysons, Washington, DC, or Charlotte, NC office with ability to work flexibly from home or in an office setting as needed. The TDM team is based in Tysons, VA, working a hybrid schedule with most team collaboration occurring on Thursdays. TDM team members visit the Charlotte, NC office approximately once per month.
