Today in honor of National Employee Appreciation Day we celebrated our greatest asset – our employees! What better way to celebrate than with tacos in our offices. Aficionados of sweet tea and queso were also in luck.
How did Employee Appreciation Day originate? According to David Nuualiitia:
“Employee Appreciation Day first arrived on calendars in 1995. One of Recognition Professionals International’s founding Board members, Bob Nelson, together with his publishing company, Workman Publishing, created Employee Appreciation Day as a way of focusing the attention of all employers, in all industries on employee recognition.”
W+A was recently selected as one of the “best places to work” in Virginia, a recognition that was appreciated since the rankings are based in large part on employee feedback. In appreciation for everyone’s effort and contributions that are made on a daily basis, each office enjoyed a catered lunch today.
