Wells + Associates attended the “Best Workplaces for Commuters: First 50 Celebration” to celebrate with many of our clients on their achievements of becoming one of the First 50 workplaces in Fairfax County to achieve a BWC designation. BWC recognizes employers and worksites with outstanding commuter benefits programs that meet the National Standard of Excellence for their commuters, including providing carpool/vanpool programs, shuttles, subsidized transit benefits, strong telework programs, and onsite, real time transportation information.
Fairfax County was the first jurisdiction in the United States to sign on more than 50 employers as best workplaces for commuters. These First 50 include Freddie Mac, Inova Fairfax Hospital, MITRE, Prosperity Metro Plaza, Towers Crescent, and Tysons Corner Center – all W+A clients.
W+A collaborated with the Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) to create the new Best Worksites for Commuters criteria, so that multi-tenant properties who have exceptional transportation demand management (TDM) programs for more than one employer can also receive the well-deserved recognition as a best workplace for commuters. Both Towers Crescent and Tysons Corner Center were the first two multi-tenant properties in the nation to receive this designation.
