Wells + Associates is pleased to announce the promotion of Marie Cox to Principal at the company. She joins our leadership team in shaping and directing the future of our firm.
Marie has deep experience as a sustainable mobility consultant and project manager and is one of the first transportation consultants in the United States to receive Transportation Demand Management Certified Professional (TDM-CP) certification. She works closely with commercial and residential real estate properties and developments to conceptualize and implement transportation programs that enhance sustainability, expand transportation amenities and commuting choices for tenants, and improve the competitiveness of real estate developments.
She leads a team of TDM and mobility management experts who are dedicated to helping communities in growing regions such as the DMV and Charlotte reduce traffic congestion while increasing density by expanding use of multimodal transportation options. Her work includes building and implementing TDM/TMP plans in Virginia (including Fairfax County, Arlington County, and the City of Alexandria) and in North Carolina (including Charlotte and Raleigh) and certifying properties’ multimodal and active transportation amenities through the ActiveScore and ModeScore systems.
Marie’s work helps localities reduce single-occupancy vehicle congestion amidst communities that seek to increase density while expanding multimodal transportation options. In recognition of her expertise in TDM and mobility management, Marie received the 40 Under 40 award from the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT) and was accepted to ACT’s ImpACT! Leadership Program.
