Traffic and Shared Parking Studies for a Mixed Use Town Center
Wells + Associates was retained by Realen Properties and Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company to conduct traffic and shared parking studies of the Village at Valley Forge in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. The Village at Valley Forge is located at the junction of four major highways including the Pennsylvania Turnpike at I-76, PA 422, and PA Route 202 within the suburban Philadelphia market.
This mixed-use town center on 128 acres provides over 1,000,000 S.F. of retail/restaurant/cinema space (including a Wegmans grocery store), a hotel, and over 2,500 residential units.
The Village at Valley Forge is a vibrant, compact, mixed-use town center, with a fine-grained, connected street network, centered on “Main Street”, and located adjacent to the King of Prussia Mall at the gateway to the largest suburban employment center in the region. The main street shopping district (King of Prussia Town Center) was recently completed and open to the public.
Wells + Associates’ traffic engineers and transportation planners conducted studies of the internal street network, shared parking studies, and site planning design services that were used to gain local municipality approvals. Wells + Associates also prepared conceptual parking garage design plans and signing and pavement marking plans.
